This is the interview I conducted with Alessia Perlini, an Interior Architect who discovered the vocation ofhome staging.
Do you think the article is too long? Alright, alright...I even made you the video!!!
I see you prefer to read, so let's continue... 😉
Alessia, class of 1986, is a young architect I met at a photography class where we were talking precisely about property enhancement. I am not new to the subject of 'home staging ( see this video from 2016 where a younger, "wispy" version of me introduced the topic at hand ) the fact is that I have always struggled to find an interlocutor here in the Verona area.
This year, thanks to this meeting organized with the trade association of which I am a member(FIMAA), I got to know her.
Graduated in 2012 from the polytechnic of Milan, thanks to the ERASMUS project, in addition to attending university she was able to do a period of work in Germany within a large architectural firm. Finished the cultural exchange and passed the state exam of architecture, Alessia found employment in an office in Verona, always in her field, it was supposed to be a classic maternity replacement but, the qualities of our Alessia stood out turning an experience of a few months into a job of about 2 and a half years. After spending this period as a collaborator in the Veronese architectural firm, however, the four walls of the office where she is located begin to seem cramped...so, she decides to go freelance and confront the world of the self-employed.
This is in 2015 where, together with his father Claudio, he began his professional journey as an interior architect, along with other technicians involved in building design and installations.
But it is in 2017 that the turning point happens: one morning, flipping through the well-known economic newspaper "il Sole 24h" Alessia comes into contact with the reality ofhome staging for the first time, being immediately impressed. In fact, an article in the newspaper told how this new professional figure was gaining a foothold in the real estate scene of the boot.
The pink newspaper had just given her the greatest gift of a lifetime: the discovery of her own vocation!!!
That's how Alessia approached the world of home staging, attending two Milanese training schools ( in Italy there is no specific course for this job, but various training schools ) in the city she learns the notions about staging, color combinations and all the secrets to make a home eye-catching. After obtaining the necessary training she joined thenational association Home Staging Lovers, which precisely groups many home stagers from all over Italy, and promotes the activity.
Once the training is over, the first interventions begin, one in Milan, let's say "shadowing," and others in Verona and province.
A few sentences struck me from Alessia, which I repost:
" Home staging is what I've always wanted to do, to put something of my own into every job, I'm no longer forced to follow the strict dictates of the administration but can give free rein to my imagination!"
"If I do an intervention, I have to believe in the project. I can't afford for one of my enhancements not to be sold..."
"Most of the interventions I have done have been commissioned by private homeowners. What they don't understand is that I deal with making their property aesthetically attractive, but I don't deal with the sale! I always suggest dealing with a seller to be assisted then in all phases..."
The thing that struck me most about home stager Alessia Perlini, besides her young age (a quality we share) is her incredible enthusiasm and desire for novelty typical of young freelancers.
Therefore, I thought it appropriate to write about her, to introduce her to you and to share her story.
Perhaps when selling your home you have underestimated the aspect of real estate development, and searching the web you stumbled upon this article--well now you know what to do!!! ????
