Sometimes in life, someone's renunciations turn into opportunities for others....
This is what happened to me about a year ago, in spring 2018 (April) when I was dicking around on Fb and came across a post by the director with whom I had shot my first episode of House Hunters International in Verona in 2017.
The call for help was to replace a real estate agent who had forfeited, a few days before filming an episode that was to be recorded in Parma. Whereupon I volunteered (of the Jennifer Lawrence series in Hunger games get it right!!) ready for the front even though the notice was less than a week.
When will I ever get the chance to stay in Parma 3 days expensed and accommodated in a beautiful facility in the historic center???
With the Bureaucracy settled, after a day of work, I set off in my little car towards Parma centro storico (1.5 h from Verona, not even that long). I arrive by about 8 p.m., juggling the ZTL to reach the hotel in the city center. I am lucky enough to have a room in the renovated part of the hotel, you know when they buy up the adjacent buildings and make rooms out of them to meet the needs of the many tourists? Lo and behold, I found myself on the top floor of a beautiful historic building, with a brand-new room extra-large bathroom and an exposed bathtub in the bedroom-which then, who takes a bath in the bedroom...mah-and small study in the lobby.
I go out to eat but there wasn't much open at that time, I manage to find a little place where I eat a piadina with crudo and sling into bed.
The next day I meet the family and the production team (whom I had never seen before) in a city park, we have to shoot the scene called "meet&greet" or the interview part where the main characters explain their needs to the real estate agent.
Special needs in this case since it is a family of 8 people!!!! A poor husband with 6 and I say 6 (not a typo they are really s-e-i) daughters and his wife. I say poor because I let you imagine how decisions work in that family ????
He is a food "scientist" who works for Barilla (true story) and from the United States moved his whole family here near the main plant.
3 really intense days in which I enjoyed the city of Parma by night (I walked around alone looking for food and refreshments) rich in tradition and one thing I love: FOOD! Sandwiches, cold cuts, cheeses, wine, everything in Parma is related to food (in fact, it was named the European Food Capital). To visit if you have never been there because it deserves....
I won't go any further, if you want to know more about the "behind the scenes" of the episode, I attach the collection of instagram stories I made here:
For the full episode here is the clip!
